Kidnap and Marry me? I Do!

Assalamualaikum,
Hey Hi Hello Guys!

How wauuuu you gais duin?
I have a question. Ever heard or imagine of a situation where you could kidnap the Bride and marry her right away? Don’t worry it’s not a crime. Not at all. Malah dapat restu lagi. Haaaaaaa * if this happened to me I’m gonna cried till my eyes pop weh.

Wondering what I’m gonna be telling you guys today? Surely about kidnap marriage. Seems like it’s not ay crime if this happened in Kyrgyzstan. Yes. Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked country in Central Asia, bordering Kazakhstan, China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

I’m currently doing a research on what is the new upcoming show and trend in Malaysia. Then I found a channel fact video stating “Adat pelik” – “Weird culture” which this is based on truth fact! So then I clicked on it to see what so weird about it. And OMG Kyrgyzstan has this weird culture called “bride kidnapping”

How weird is this?
In rural Kyrgyzstan men still marry their women the old-fashioned way: by abducting them off the street and forcing them to be their wife. The history - Bride kidnapping is a supposedly ancient custom that's made a major comeback since the fall of Communism and now accounts for nearly half of all marriages in some parts.

Imagine Ladies, if you woke up on the next day thinking that it’s just another day.. Surprise. Surprise! It’s actually your wedding day! Not only that. The Groom family at home waiting for you and they know about the kidnapping plan. I don’t know what to say but this is just brutal.

Rasa kalau adat ni ada kat malaysia. For sure korang nak culik Emma Maembong ke kak lopa ke khannnn. seronokkk! HAHA jk.

I then do more research, logging out from what I’m supposed to do – how easily distracted I am you see?! And I found ay short documentary showing how this happened and how the bride kidnapping are planned.

Feel free to watch (Watch it here) But guys. No hate ya. Maybe it’s too much for us because it’s not a right thing to do. Just think and analyze it by yourself and do not fluent by hatred.

How this affect the society.
Well, base on what I can see, most of them are married in this kind of away. Most of them are happy but some of them are not. Even when you watch the video, the bride's grandmother feels bit upset and feels like her grandchild should finish her school first. But well. What can they say when culture conquer. They are also people who commit suicide because of this. Imagine. You are forced to get married with a stranger.. Don’t know anything about him. Can’t imagine if that happened to me.

So just sharing the fact and thought.
What do you think?

Thanks for reading!
Till Then.

  1. It's funny how so many people talk about equal gender rights and there are still some cultures that advocate such inhumane behaviour.

    1. Well, to be honest it might seen inhumane behaviour to us, but seems like its "sweet" way for them to show how loving the groom is that they willing to be the "bad" guy because of to much love in them with the bride. Probably that is how they think back on those days but when world evolve, and people exposed with modern culture, tv and etc. thinking has change and yes i agree, this not compatible to be practise right now.

Thanks Hari for reading this.! xx
